The Beginning of Mommy Muse.

Wow! Im finally here. After many months of indecisiveness, of me beating myself up over imperfections. Mommy Muse is finally here. I had to realize that in order for my blog to be real and true I had to let go of everything that I thought it should be, and just do it. One thing that being a Mother has taught me is that it is okay if you are not doing everything "perfect" there is no such thing as pure "Perfection", you can be damn close, and by being close the only thing you can do is all that you can. One example of what I mean is my birth experience, which is displayed in the photo above. Throughout my pregnancy, I had in my mind of how I thought the "perfect"  labor and delivery would go. Which was I would go into labor, and I would labor and deliver my baby out Naturally(By Choice), in a matter of 5 hours max with no complications. Clearly I had become a Nurse and an OBGYN as well, because I was adamant about all of those things.  I watched videos, taught myself breathing techniques, did my kegels. I did it all.....On Saturday January 28th 2017 I woke up with light contractions, I was already 2cm dilated. So me being the doctor that I am :)  I told my Mom, "I'm going to have this baby tonight". She and I went to the park and walked the track for a good 2 miles, went home showered and we went to the mall walked and shopped for three hours, until I went into labor in Madewell as I was trying to decide between flare or bootcut...A pain that I had never felt before in my life hit me like a Mac truck. We went home, I showered, threw some last minute things into my hospital bag, called my husband and before I went out the door, I ate a bowl of bbq shrimp. I indeed believe that is what kicked me all the way into labor. (They were so worth it though)  Once we arrived at the hospital.. the nurse admitted me. Everything was going perfect, I was handling the pain like I watched on the videos and I knew I was about to just push my baby out, or so I thought.  12 hours later of long, painful contractions. 1 hour of pushing, and 20 stitches later. No medication. No epidural.  All Natural (by choice) On JANUARY 29th, 2017( 5 hours my ass) at 12:19 pm I gave birth to my beautiful Daughter Marley Brooklyn Lewis. My delivery didn't go as planned, nor was it perfect, but I did all that I can and the end  result was something beyond perfection. Marley is now my source of inspiration, and I hope that through me, Mommy Muse can be that same inspiration to you.
