Babies Sensitive Skin

Upon coming home from the hospital I knew three things for certain. 1. I had a beautiful baby. 2. My beautiful baby was bald head. 3. My beautiful bald head baby had beautiful skin. However only one of those things have changed so far. She's still bald head and of course still beautiful.

I am such a skin critic (to myself, not others) so of course having a daughter I turned out to be the same way towards her skin. I have mild eczema, and her dad has asthma which are both components that can pass along eczema to your child. Around 4 months, Marley had a breakout and a very bad eczema flare up. I was very distraught, I literally kept apologizing to her for giving her this skin condition. (she just looked at me like  what is your problem, you're messing up my onesie with all that crying").  The very next day, I brought her to the doctor, however, her doctor didn't think that it was that extreme to prescribe her any cream. So my next stop was babies r us, where I bought a ton of different products. (Eucerin, Cetaphil, and Aveeno). Before I begin on my journey of those products, first let me say that the number one product that reacts AGAINST her skin, is Johnson & Johnson. As soon as I put any of those products on her skin she breaks out.

Back to the regular scheduled program. I started off with Eucerin. I used the wash during bath time, I also put a little in the water for her bubbles. And then followed by Eucerin lotion. It just didn't give me the best results I was looking for.

Next, I tried Aveeno. Nope! Didn't like it either. I was becoming discouraged, until I had a conversation with a Mom who recommended Dove Sensitive Bar ( thanks Morgan!!) which is the same exact soap I use. I gave it a try and literally the next week I began to see changes in her skin. My daily routine is...Once she wakes up, I wash her face with a warm wash cloth, and apply vaseline ( CRACK) to her face, twice a day I put some Cetaphil lotion and a scoop of vaseline in my hand and apply it to her skin. The effect of the Cetaphil and the thickness of the vaseline is the best combination. At night time, I bathe her with the Dove Sensitive Bar and now her skin is flourishing, her melanin is popping, and she's drinking her titty milk and minding her business. :)

Moms, please please feel free to let me know what skin routine you use for your baby.
